The sharing of their music was a gift from the old or new American pioneers. Music is still given and shared as a gift today. K. Evans Odell learned to sing and feel the impact and power of Welsh hymns as a child in Vaughnsville and Gomer, Ohio. The wonderful harmonies and the strength of feeling cannot be equaled when many choral voices bring them to life. As an adult, however, K. Evans Odell found that choirs are hard to come by in the scant populations of Montana, and the love of the songs was something not diminished when they were sung by a single voice. When gospel music became a second love, K Evans Odell began to express the old songs in a new way—not to replace the beauty of a multitude of voices singing the old hymns, but to share the beloved old songs with a multitude of peoples through a single voice just as American gospel music had evolved from the mixture of cultures. "Along the Little Missouri" is an album of songs composed by Karen Evans Odell inspired by the country she has lived in for forty years, and the people that inhabited that country. The Little Missouri River crosses that country. Table Rock is a local place of mystery. PRCA rodeo finalists, and local characters are also included. Indian Bluff is a spot where Norwegian settlers spent some cold nights avoiding Indians. The river crossing has been a gathering place for summer outings for generations.
